Over the past week and a half, the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office has investigated numerous incidents where individuals have entered unlocked vehicles in the village of Lomira, and thefts from the vehicles have occurred.  Additionally, bicycles from within the village have also been stolen and later abandoned in various areas.  These thefts have primarily occurred during the overnight hours.

We would like to remind everyone to please remove any valuables, especially vehicle keys, cash, and firearms, from your vehicles when they are not occupied.  Please lock your car doors and secure bicycles or other items that can be easily taken to avoid becoming a victim.

Several residents have provided information that has assisted in our investigation into these thefts.  We appreciate the help and encourage others who may have information or video surveillance of anyone suspicious to contact our office via our app or at 920-386-3726.

Questions may be directed to Sheriff Dale J. Schmidt.
