Visitation
Planning on visiting an inmate?
There are a number of steps that must be taken prior to your arrival at the jail and dependent on the kind of visit that will take place. Please see below for visitation hours based on last name as well as links to be added to an inmate's visitor list, send a gift to an inmate, mail, or to add funds to their account. Please call the Jail with any questions at 920-386-3734.
Friends & Family
Inmates are allowed two personal visits per week (one per day): they are 30 minutes in length. All visitor information is submitted by the inmate and approved by a Program Specialist prior to a visit. No more than two adults will be allowed into a visiting area at once or groups no larger than four (i.e. two adults and two children or one adult and three children).
Visitors must be over the age of 18 or accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. The only exception to this is if the minor is a spouse of the inmate. In that case, proof of marriage may be required. All visitors 18 years of age or older will be required to provide a valid photo identification.
Professional Visitors
Professional Visitors may include credentialed attorneys of record, law enforcement, medical or mental health professionals, and as approved by Dodge County Jail Administration. With the exception of overnight hours (9PM to 8AM), facility lockdowns , and facility emergencies, professional in-person no-contact visits may occur at any other time ( it is not necessary to schedule no contact professional visits). Contact professional visits must be approved by Jail Administration and will only be approved if exigent circumstances exist. Call 920.386.3743 to be directed to admin staff that can review your request for a professional contact visit. All in-person no contact professional visitors must provide state bar card (attorneys) or other professional credentials and approved at the discretion of Dodge County Sheriff’s Office Administration.
Professionals who wish to have privileged calls or video visits with clients or patients must first create an account through Smart Communications at SmartInmate.com. After registering, they must send a connection request to their client and select the appropriate professional connection type to establish a secure, unrecorded line of communication. The system will then require credential verification for facility approval; incomplete or incorrect submissions may result in denial. All accounts must be made at least one day in advance. Once approved and the client accepts the request, visits can be scheduled.
